Taunton business ladies go red for Stand Against Violence
Friday 24th April, 2015
OVER 50 business ladies from across Taunton turned up today (April 23) to raise awareness and funds for local charity Stand Against Violence (SAV).
The event called on business ladies to wear red shoes, lipstick and clothes to raise awareness of the charity’s work on violence prevention.
It is just one of many fundraising events taking place throughout the year and runs in tandem with the £10 for 10 years campaign.
Stand Against Violence was set up in memory of Taunton student Lloyd Fouracre who tragically lost his life to mindless violence.
The charity works tirelessly through providing unique and powerful educational workshops to schools.
This year for their 10th anniversary SAV and the Somerset County Gazette are asking people to help the charity reach more young people through donating a one off £10 for the 10th year.
Adam Fouracre, founder and CEO of SAV said 'I would like to say a huge thank you to the event organiser Kevin Smith who managed an amazing feat bringing together so many people. I would also like to thank everyone who took part, I was truly touched to see so many people present and all supporting a charity which means so much to me and that I and many others have dedicated so much time to.' A thank you must also go to the Somerset County Gazette for their continued support of SAV.
Continuing the theme of red, SAV is encouraging people to take photos of themselves with red shoes or wearing something red and tweet or post the picture to social media with the hashtag #sav10for10.
People can then donate their £10 by texting SAVE17 £10 to 70070.
