Stand Against Violence Evaluation

Today we see the release of our long awaited evaluation. Over the last 6 months we have been working with the Centre for Public Health (CPH) to evaluate our schools based work.

There is only small pockets of research in to the use of educational based approaches to prevention. Through feedback and first hand experience we at SAV know that our work is effective at changing violent attitudes but now we can prove it.

A huge thank you to the kind and tireless efforts of those at the CPH who worked on this report. A total of six schools from across the South West took part from Bristol to Cornwall and again a big thank you to them and their pupils.

We are extremely pleased to be able to share this with you, our supporters. Your support is very valuable and is needed as we move forward.

This is only the beginning. We plan to continue our relationship with the CPH and conduct more detailed research in due course on a larger scale. We will be seeking funding to scale up and achieve this and this report will help show that we are worth peoples investment.

The report has now been shared within the Home Office and NHS England. The CPH have also published it on their website www.cph.org.uk and they are looking to release to journals in the coming months.

The evaluation shows clearly how our work is effectively changing young peoples attitudes towards violence not just in the short term, but also there is suggestion of long term change. A promising future for us all.
