Somerlap's Christmas support
Wednesday 21st December, 2016
Local Mark based business Somerlap held their annual Christmas Fayre in aid of charity Stand Against Violence. The event raised £600 for the charity and Adam Fouracre, CEO of Stand Against Violence said, ‘we are very grateful to Somerlap for choosing to support us at what sounded like a very successful event.’ Kevin Bond, Managing Director of Somerlap said, ‘It was fantastic to see such an interesting range of stalls at the Somerlap Christmas fayre this year. It’s very encouraging to see that the fayre raised much more money than last year, with twice as many stalls as well. Everyone really got into the Christmas spirit and I was glad to see that we raised £600 for the really worthwhile local charity, Stand Against Violence.’
Somerlap have also decided to continue their support of Stand Against Violence for the coming year where they will be providing funding to the charity to deliver 10 free workshops to schools in the Sedgmoore and Mendip areas of Somerset. Kevin said, ‘we chose to partner with Stand Against Violence because we know the charity does fantastic work in the local area to reduce violence among young people.’ Adam said, ‘this is a great and welcome opportunity for SAV and local schools. We hope that local schools will take Somerlap up on their generous offer to cover delivery costs which will mean that local young people will benefit from the very effective and beneficial work of SAV with absolutely no associated costs of delivery.’
