Stand Against Violence Presents: Violence Prevention Discussion 1 (Monday 1st February 2021)

The Guests:
• David Breakspear: "As a former prisoner with experience spanning four decades I took advantage of every opportunity available to me and I am committed to reducing re-offending by helping others see #WhatCanBe."
• Alison Cope: "Since losing my son Joshua to knife crime in 2013 I have used my son's inspirational story to deliver anti-youth violence presentations to over 420,000 people nationally. The presentations are designed to give young people hope that their previous mistakes do not have to define their future."

The Discussion Points:
• Two guests with different kinds of lived experience discuss why young people end up on a violent path, why we should not be quick to judge and what society can do to help going forward
• A man who has been through the prison system and has learnt lessons the hard way that he is trying to help others learn the easy way. An award winning knife crime campaigner who wants every young person to believe in their own potential no matter what mistakes they have made
