Stay Safe is a training workshop for all staff who work with customers in front of house or store settings, and was developed in partnership with The Southern Co-operative, a convenience retailer. The workshop details what workplace violence is, what can be done to prevent it occurring, and how to deal with it if it does happen, with a particular focus on protecting staff and customers from harm.
StaySafe Training: Keep your staff and customers safe
Stay Safe is targeted at all staff working in convenience stores, petrol stations, off-license and licensed premises, betting and gambling establishments.
The workshop first looks at violence in general and then focuses in on the top three causes in the store environment, along with armed robbery. This is not because armed robbery is common, but because when it does occur it can be devastating for the those involved. Our experienced trainers handle this sensitive topic with both compassion and empathy, while maintaining the strong messages of non-violence. The workshop can be delivered in line with your company policies with bespoke emphasis on topics that are important to your business (e.g. cash handling procedures).
The Stay Safe workshops have been invaluable to our colleagues. The expertise that Stand Against Violence bring to these workshops really helps embed the messages and bring crediability to the cause. Working in the Retail environment can, sadly, make our colleagues susceptible to aggression and violence. These workshops have not only helped to put in place preventative measures to protect our stores and business, but more importantly, they have given our colleagues real tools that they can use to help protect themselves.
If you’re in a business that is potentially vulnerable to aggression or violence, and your staff are your most valuable asset, then this training is for you. Stand Against Violence are truly passionate about spreading the message of non-violence, and this workshop puts that message into practical terms that you and your staff can implement directly into your workplace.
