We are delighted to welcome Debbie Mawer as a new trustee to our board.

Debbie currently holds the role of Director of People and Culture at Claims Consortium Group where she has worked for the previous 16 years overseeing and developing the accounts and HR departments. Last year her responsibilities focused on the learning and development facility for the now 280-plus team of employees.

Commenting on the appointment, Adam Fouracre, CEO of SAV, said: “We are delighted to welcome Debbie on to the board of trustees. Her valuable skills and knowledge will help us grow as a charity and reach our future goals.

“Initially Debbie will review the performance of our charitable work and set in place some measurement tools as well as cementing a clear direction for our fundraising activities. Her vast experience means we can call on Debbie to assist with recruitment and other HR issues as well as utilising her financial management skillset to ensure best value in our good work.”

The appointment will further strengthen ties with Claims Consortium, whose CEO, Jeremy Hyams, is already a non-executive director for the charity.

Adam added: “We have enjoyed an active relationship with the Group for the past four years and therefore feel that Debbie already understands our aims.”

“This seemed like a natural step for me,” said Debbie. “I feel a close affinity with SAV and part of my role is to support the community. I’m looking forward to assisting in the future strategy of the charity as well as gaining new experiences through my time on the board.”
